What it is

Gu Yue Village is the Gu Yue Clan's home, and the novel introduces it as part of the mountain rather than separate from it.

This was Gu Yue Village, nestled upon Qing Mao Mountain, giving the vast, tranquil mountain range a distinct sense of human habitation.

Chapter 1, paragraph 29

Built from bamboo and timber, strung along the slopes.

Looking out across the expanse, stilt dwellings constructed of green bamboo and timber blended seamlessly against the surrounding mountains, painting a tranquil panorama

Chapter 3, paragraph 5

What holds it up

The village's wealth is a spirit spring, the very source whose Primeval Stone every cultivator in it depends upon.

That spring produces large quantities of primeval stones, and it could be called the very foundation of Gu Yue Village.

Chapter 4, paragraph 7

Where power sits

At the centre of the village stands the building the clan's authority is housed in.

At the very heart of Gu Yue Village stood a grand and glorious pavilion.

Chapter 1, paragraph 30

Why it matters

This is the whole world of the first arc: one village, two clans, one mountain, and a boy who has already seen how it ends.
