What it is
Southern Border is the region where Gu Yue Village sits, and the only one named in the opening chapters. It arrives as history rather than description, for Fang Yuan already knows it well and reflects upon it while observing the ceremony.
Several hundred years ago, the Gu Yue clan migrated from Central Continent to Southern Border
Chapter 4, paragraph 7
Why it matters
One clause opens the map. The clan is not native here; there is a Central Continent behind them, and the migration is recent enough that the clan's elders still measure their decline against it. For a reader four chapters in, Southern Border is the first proof that Qing Mao Mountain is a corner of somewhere enormous.
The chapters do not yet describe the region's shape, its powers or its clans. When they do, this entry grows.
