Who shares it
At least two clans live on the mountain, namely the Gu Yue Clan and the Bai Clan, and the rivalry between their young cultivators drives the opening chapters. Bai Ning Bing is the reason the Gu Yue elders are nervous this year.
Why it matters
Villages, clans and rivals are the small world. The mountain is the first hint that the world is bigger than the village, and that everything on this mountain is a long way from where the story is going.
