Who he was
The First Clan Leader was a formidable cultivator who founded the Gu Yue Clan after leading his lineage across thousands of miles from Central Continent to the Southern Border.
This was because the Gu Yue ancestor, the first clan leader, had been a renowned, legendary expert. His cultivation had caused genes carrying power to lie hidden within his bloodline.
Chapter 4, paragraph 27
The power of his bloodline
The high proportion of Gu Master aptitude among the villagers is credited directly to him. His personal strength imprinted itself so deeply upon his descendants that six out of ten Gu Yue youths possess the capacity to awaken an aperture.
Why he matters
His spirit tablet occupies the central position of honour inside the Clan Leader's Pavilion. Every prayer uttered before the Aperture Opening Ceremony invokes his blessing, and the entire institutional weight of the clan rests upon the foundation he carved into Qing Mao Mountain.
